Just so you know…

So this will be a quick post. I figure I should give you an idea of why I've decided to take a stab at this blogging thing.

I've recently been bitten by the writing bug, and I figured a blog would be the best way to put my musings out there. As the title says, "Don't Panic!" (if you get that reference, you know why we are friends, or perhaps we should be). Just know that stepping into my mind, may possibly cause some level of insanity. Or at the very least, fits of laughter. Or you may just think me a big stupid head. Whatever floats your boat.

Okay, so I have a pretty random mind, so one post may be like the short story I intend to post next (spoiler alert, you might want a tissue when you read it, but it's ultimately a beautiful story), while the others may be my thoughts on a film or sports team, or athlete, or book, or...or the black bird that was just on the table outside the window at Starbucks. He seemed a cheeky fellow, and was staring at me with a quizzical expression on his face (as much as a bird can have a quizzical expression...just go with it), before he flew off. Birds; they have such short attention spans these days. I'd blame technology, but they're birds. I'm pretty sure they don't even know what technology means. I could be wrong....Where was I? Oh yes, my random mind.

Please humor me in my randomness, and feel free to provide any comments and criticisms you may have. I tend to take constructive criticism pretty well. Now if you just want to be a jerk, we might have a problem. I do have a tendency to go into an uncontrollable Ginger Hulk rage. Totally kidding, but I may well eviscerate you in written word, at a later point. Kidding again. We are all God's children, and I do my best to keep in that mindset.

Oh yeah, to that end, This is not strictly a Christian blog, but I am a Christ Follower. So...If you're not a fan of someone waxing Christianity/religion, I'll understand if you choose never to read my thoughts, or if you choose to comment in opposition of my beliefs. I would ask only that you do so intelligently and respectfully. In return, I will strive to respond to your thoughts in the same manner. I am all for a civilly conducted debate. I am not so much for someone spewing bile, either in the name of religion or against it. So basically, let's all be as kind as we can be. Not to say that we need to be politically correct here (I'm not a huge fan of it myself, so if I offend...sorry), but my intention is not to cause offense.

All that said, don't be surprised to find my thoughts on films and subjects that are not exclusively, or at all Christian in nature. I certainly love a good film. One like Logan, which--in my humble opinion--was a theatrical masterpiece, and a fitting end to the version of my second favorite favorite comic book character (sorry, but Gambit is just the apex of comic book characters for me) that's been so masterfully portrayed by Hugh Jackman for over 17 years. I could go on, and on...and on about how I think this will be the first comic book film to merit being nominated for an Academy Award. I could, but then I might actually unintentionally spew out a spoiler, and become one the things I loathe (spoiler spewer-outers...it's a word. I checked. Don't bother checking because I'm right. so there!). but I digress. The point her is that I don't intend to flood this blog with religiosity. My religion will certainly be a big part of my thoughts, but there are more layers to me than that (like an onion...another movie reference in one of my musings? Surely not?!). Oh and another side note. I'm sarcastic. Maybe you figured that out by now, or maybe sarcasm is lost on you (I feel sorry for you, if that's the case). Sarcasm is not so easily portrayed through written word, but I like to think I'm pretty adept at it.

Huh...I do believe I stated at the beginning of this post that it would be quick. Well, I guess that was a lie. Not intentional, but I think I owe you, the reader an apology, nonetheless. If you've made the decision to read this far, first of all good for you. A scrumptious cookie-like morsel will be coming your way should our paths ever cross (assuming I, and you remember). Secondly, thank you...sincerely thank you for indulging my babbling for this long. Rest assured you are nearly done.

Again, and I mean this sincerely, thanks for reading. I hope you have a Spadoinkle day (massive points to you if you get that movie reference, and if we are not friends, we need to remedy that, forthwith).
